When you have a tiny kitchen such as in a campervan, caravan, tiny house or small apartment and don’t have an in-built oven or room to have a counter-top oven but love to bake, here are some very smart, practical solutions to have your kitchen filling up with the wonderful smell of home baking in no time.

1. The Omnia Oven

With the Omnia recreational oven you can serve freshly baked breads and tasty casseroles cooked on your stovetop. Almost everything that can be heated, baked or cooked in a fixed, domestic oven can be baked in an Omnia on the hot plate.

The ingenious three-part Omnia utilises heat from the stove and generates both top and bottom heat. A circular aluminium food container with center hole sits on a matching stainless steel support that is placed over the heat source. The heat spreads along the bottom of the food container and as it rises the specially designed lid with ventilation hole diverts the heat over the top of the container.

You can also purchase accessories such as a silicone mould to save cleanup, muffin ring and an oven rack.  They also have a recipe book you can purchase.

Note!
Omnia with enamel-coated base plate must not be used on a glassceramic stovetop. The enamel coating can damage the stovetop.

2. Coleman Camp Oven

However if you need an oven to heat up a pie to get that ‘crunch’ as you bite into it, a Coleman Camp Oven might be the choice for you. Along with pies and pasties, bake up cinnamon rolls, muffins and corn bread. It folds flat for easy storage too! It is designed to fit on a Coleman® Liquid Fuel and propane camp stoves and then folds down flat for compact storage. The rack adjusts to three heights and also includes an easy-to-read thermometer. The smooth aluminized steel cleans easily and resists corrosion, scratches and scuffs.

If you go for this option, our JSK collapsible silicone containers are a great accompaniment for baking a cake, meatloaf or reheating up food.  They can go straight from the freezer into the oven too!

3. The ‘Wonder Pot’

The ‘Wonder Pot‘ is made by Mario Mugnano in Italy from Aluminium.  Very similar to the Omnia Oven except that it is taller.  Great for baking hollow ring cakes as well as anything you can bake in the oven.  It also can be used within an oven, not just on the stovetop.

So there you have it, three smart kitchen gadgets for baking on the stovetop.
